Privacy Policy

PackTune is a Shopify app operated by SystemaWeb that recommends packaging for orders. This policy explains what PackTune processes and what it does not. Contact: alex@systemaweb.com.

Who this applies to

This policy is for merchants who install PackTune and, where relevant, people whose orders those merchants fulfill.

What PackTune processes

  • Shop domain and authentication sessions for Shopify Admin
  • Product and variant information needed to size items (ids, titles, SKUs, images, weights)
  • Merchant-entered product dimensions and packing flags
  • Merchant-entered package catalog (boxes, mailers, tubes)
  • Order identifiers, order names, and shippable line items (title, variant, SKU, quantity)
  • Packing recommendations derived from that information

What PackTune does not collect

PackTune does not require, and does not query Shopify for, customer names, emails, phone numbers, billing addresses, shipping addresses, or payment card details. PackTune is not a CRM, email, or checkout identity app.

Shopify order data

PackTune reads packing-relevant order fields only. Order webhooks are configured to deliver the order id; PackTune then loads packing-relevant line items. Order data is not used to profile customers, send marketing, or sell data.

Retention

  • Product dimensions, packages, and shop configuration: while PackTune is installed
  • Order packing recommendations: 90 days, then deleted
  • Webhook delivery receipts: 30 days, then deleted
  • Authentication sessions follow Shopify’s lifecycle and are removed when the shop’s PackTune data is deleted

Deletion

Uninstalling PackTune deletes the shop’s PackTune data, including product dimensions, packages, packing recommendations, webhook receipts, and sessions. Shopify shop-redact requests are handled even if data was already deleted. Customer data requests typically find no customer profiles, because PackTune does not store them.

Security

PackTune authenticates Admin and webhook requests with Shopify’s app platform. Data is stored in PostgreSQL scoped to the installed shop. Production TLS, backups, and encryption-at-rest depend on the hosting environment.
